Chikyu-Shimin Hiroba
A place where citizens of Nagasaki, including non-Japanese residents, can participate in consultation and exchange. The Hiroba has study materials and other collections of information. Relax and enjoy reading books on international relations, and obtain information on foreign countries.
The Hiroba is also the venue for International Understanding Classes and Japanese Language Classes.
Opening Times: 9:00-20:00
Holidays: End and start of the year, and days on which Brick Hall is closed.

Three computers with internet access and CD-ROM. To use a computer, please sign your name at the front desk and show your User Card.

- If you wish to send e-mail, please make use of a web-based mail e-mail service.
- Please take the utmost care when entering and sending personal information such as address, date of birth and telephone number on the internet.
- If the computer crashes or freezes, please inform the member of staff at the front desk.
Prohibited Activities
- Altering computer settings or downloading files.
- For maintenance reasons, you cannot copy files to or from CD-ROMs and floppy disks. If you wish to backup or copy data, please make a print-out.
- Hacking, auction site fraud and other illegal activities.
- Playing games or viewing websites with adult or other offensive content.
- Using message boards to post abusive or defamatory messages.

- When using computers for internet or CD-ROMs, up to one hour costs ¥100. Print-outs cost ¥10 per sheet. If you wish to use the computers or printers, please inquire at the front desk.
Video Booth (also consultation corner)

- Videos cannot be taken out of the Hiroba. They can only be watched in the Video Booth.
- Please note also that the Video Booth cannot be used while foreign-language consultations are taking place.
Using the Message Board
A place for citizens, including non-Japanese residents, to exchange information.

International Exchange Groups’ Information
A pamphlet rack is available for use by all of Nagasaki city’s international exchange and cooperation groups. Visitors can read these pamphlets freely.

Conference Space
Nagasaki International Volunteers and other international exchange and cooperation groups may use this space. Each group may use the space up to twice a month, for two hours at a time.
